RE: I Hate the Provincial Park Money Envelope

I loved the envelopes !!!! go and pick my own stall 1st then comeback and pay ...thats the best rather than have a 13 year old kid assign me a stall thats way to small or full of mud. We always pay by CC or by cheque and have never had a problem:)

RE: Jasper - Whistlers Campground

We stay in William Switzer park north of Hinton and just drive to the park...I don't like the parks campgrounds...it's like staying in a walmart parking lot everyone rammed in there only half with firepits $40 a night to camp plus a $8.80 a night "fire permit" $50 a night to be stacked like cord wood?? For the exact same drive(4 hours) go down to kananaskis beautiful down and no crowds I recomend elkwood campground 25 yards of thick bush between the campstalls. We seen lots of animals bears, moose, elk, deer, big horned sheep, pine martins....thats was within walkin distance of our camper

RE: Radium - Redstreak Campground - Firepit with full hookups?

Yes they have hook ups and fire pits and the wood is free, it is all red cedar cut offs from the surronding mills and man does it burn fast and hot. Beautiful campground well set up just watch out for the big horned sheep on the hill on the way up .....oh and bring lots of nuts for the bazillion squirrls

RE: Canadian Campground Pics

Awesome thread it's nice to see good ol Canadian campgrounds with trees and no neighbors, for some peace and quiet not like some of the pics I see of paved parking lots some call campgrounds where you cannot open your awning with hitting the neighbors trailer. I'm gonna have to dig up a bunch of pics to post

RE: 2-6V or 2-12 Volt??

To the original poster, how is that for an earfull...lol All I can say after the above diatribe suggesting we research rather than believe what the masses say.. Again, using logical assumptions, feedback, trust in 2 manufacturers, and a LOT of good RV users feedback, go with either a true 2x6v golfcart battery, or maybe that expensive golf-cart component one trojan has that is 12v... but don't waste valuable time cutting apart batteries, enough good people here have used these golfcart batteries for 5+ years successfully, they are better informed than any of us chickens.... Good luck Allen Well I am the original poster and it has been an earful. A page or so ago I said I had to go with 2-6V cause 2-12V was to big and I would have to mount them on top of my frame rails then my W/D clamps would not fit. A have another question or another can of worms should I say..LOL After every trip I remove the batteries and store them in my garage, cause my trailer sits at a storage where they can be easily stolen, I always charge with a trickle charger before I go out again but my charger is 12V so when I take them out can I hook them back together and charge them with the 12V charger?

W/D Hitch question

Do you buy the weight distribution hitch for tongue weight? or for trailer weight? My trailer has a 490# TW and a gross of 6500# my dealer told me I didn't need anymore than the 550# model but according to the web site it is only good for a gross of 5500# http://www.dsphitches.com/index.php?module=pagemaster&PAGE_user_op=view_page&PAGE_id=10&MMN_position=1:1 should I be buying the bigger one?

RE: 2-6V or 2-12 Volt??

Well in the end 2-12v would fit with my equalizer clamps so I had to go with 2-6V

RE: 2-6V or 2-12 Volt??

Thanks for all the quick replys I think I will go with 2-12V just out the convenience and less maintainence I'm assuming a group 31 is better than a 27?

2-6V or 2-12 Volt??

Ok I have read debates on why 2-6V are better that 1-12V but is 2-6V better that 2-12V?? I have room for either combo but limited to only 2 batteries so which ones to get? I guess I should give some info it is a 25'TT and we random camp or "boondocking" you guys call it about 80% of the time for about 3-4 days at a time. I was also thinking of buying a small generator (1000W) to charge the batteries when we are out in the middle of the bush for longer times. I had just 1-12V on our old popup and it sucked I was always hooking up to charge it up and we only run lights, water pump, and the furnace on colder nights, nothing fancy, I really don't want to go through that pain again. I kinda need an answer fast I have to give them a decsion by about noon tomorrow on which combo I want

Not another T.V. question !!!!

OK here is my question I have a 2004 Dodge 1500 QC 4X4 5.7 Hemi, 5-45RE transmission HD coolers 3.92 gears and tow package able to pull 7700# The TT we are looking at is a Puma 28BHS dry 5900# Gross 7640# ...60# under gross technically I can still tow this. My truck has the same drive train as a 3/4 ton gas just not the suspension. I will be adding a distribution hitch and I think this spring adding the Firestone ride right air bags to keep it more level it is uneven with my tent trailer on. Does anyone else have this combo? or does anyone see having a problem with this combo?
